Reinan Law Featured on Channel 7
A recent case won by Reinan Law regarding a former patient at Clear View Behavioral Health was featured on Denver’s Chanel 7 News last month. In this case, Jerome Reinan represented Lisa Sun in her case regarding malpractice at Compass Health Systems. Sun was suing for millions of dollars for her treatment at the former mental health hospital in Johnstown. While seeking help at the hospital, she never saw a doctor in person, but she still was admitted to the facility and was prescribed medication that required a doctor to sign off on. Her stay was over 8 days, and she believes she received a substandard level of care and that the facility was only motivated by money. Our very own Jerome Reinan presented emails composed by Punjwani showing that he had been employed for over 2 years by the practice and had not seen a patient in person during that period. Reinan’s argument in court was that this was a clear example of medical malpractice.
Denver 7’s team of investigative reporters had been hot on the trail of this facility for over 20 months prior to the lawsuit and had discovered unsanitary conditions, medical management issues, the death of a patient, and that patients had been kept longer than necessary. This facility was shut down in September 2020 by the State of Colorado. Ultimately this case was declared a mistrial, and both sides will reconvene shortly to proceed with the trial.
